We analyzed how the most popular brand of vodka in the world is reflected into the digital channels, and how the fans related and interacted with Smirnoff. With this knowledge in hands, it was possible to detect the immense opportunity that the brand had to create and engage in conversations with its fans. It became clear that Smirnoff inspires people to find and share the "Be There" sentiment on a daily basis. With this mindset, we brought to the fans relevant and inspiring content focused on emotional approach for the public dialogue and making difference on their routine. We have also engaged them through competitions that focused on bringing the best of the international nightlife and an unique experience to the fans, leveraging Smirnoff as an international and aspirational brand. When We Are Social took charge of the page, there were less than 150.000 fans, a number which grew 425% to over 1MM fans, making Smirnoff the 3rd largest brand page in Brazil and the 1st alcoholic beverage brand to reach 1MM fans in the country. The page reached the milestone of the world's 17th most engaging brand on Facebook (Oct 2011) with 1.009 posts and over 360.000 interactions, 307.822 likes and over 60.000 comments.
